"So...Diana seems pissed, Bruce."
 
"Yep."
 
"I take it you pissed her off."
 
"Don't I always, Clark?"
 
"Pretty much, yep."
 
"Well, there you go."
 
"Why do you think that is?"
 
"Well, I can't say why I piss her off, Clark. I guess I just have that effect on women."
 
"So why does she piss you off?"
 
"Why? She's arrogant, immature, stubborn, refuses to be diverted from a course once she's on it. And she likes to spin my head."
 
"Sounds like a match made in heaven."
 
"Very funny."
 
Hand me some bread, will you? So...how long have you been in love with her?"
 
"???"
 
"Wow. I've never seen you speechless before. If it makes it easier to form words, my friend, I think she's in love with you too."
 
"You do? But I thought--"
 
"You thought she and I...? I won't deny I have strong feelings, Bruce. But you know I love Lois. I'd never hurt her."
 
"So I'm second best."

"If you are, why am I so freakin' jealous of you, right now? Frankly, I don't think Diana would settle for second best. You're the real thing for her. And if you ever say I said that, I'll deny it with my last breath."

 
"Why are you doing this?"
 
"Because you two need to work this out. Soon."
 
"So you're doing this for the good of the League?"
 
"No. I'm doing this for my two best friends. Now go talk to her before I regret my good deed."
